          Re: POD1-S jam

Cooling fan on turn over unit can draw toner & dust residue through that unit. Over time it makes a mess that might cause copies to stick. Igi's fix might be the answer. I had one like this that was only first thing in the morning. After seeing so many techs here suggesting unit replacement over repair, I ended up replacing the entire turn over unit. Replacing the unit is more expensive but it saves a lot of time over trying to service the existing unit.

            Re: POD1-S jam

I have a few POD1S possibilities for you:

Misfeeds (jam code AINPDN, POD1N, POD1S) when duplexing. The leading edge of the paper is folded under 2mm at the center of the page. Worn paper feed tires in tray #1. Replace the paper feed tires in tray #1([2] NROLR1311FCZZ, [1] NROLR1312FCZZ).

Misfeeds (jam code P0D1S) first side of duplex at inverter gate, intermittently. The black inverter gate on the AR-FN6 does not shift when inverting. The gate movement is blocked by used staples removed from documents. Remove the right finisher AR-FN6 to remove any foreign objects from the black inverter gate.

Creases in feed direction on all copies & prints (from the front edge 53mm & 177mm). Misfeeds (jam code POD1N, AINPDN, POD1S) accordians in the delivery. The delivery idler rollers crumble from prolonged exposure to heat from the fuser (634k copies). Replace the delivery/turnover unit (CFRM-1020DS51). Remember to remove the extension on the exit flag if a mailbox or AR-FN6 is present.

Misfeeds (jam code POD1S) just past the fuser. The swivel pin @ the rear of the inverter gate is broken off in the entrance to the AR-FN6. Replace the inverter gate in the AR-FN6 (PGIDM1947FCZ2). Check fuser frame, may be dropped during jam removal.

Misfeeds (jam code POD1S) letter size paper from tray #1 only. Tray #1 paper side guides have 1+ mm gap or more to the copy paper cumulatively. Adjust the tray #1 side guides to < 0.25mm clearance to the paper and screw down both front and rear guides to minimize paper skew.

Misfeeds (jam code POD1S, AINPDN), won't clear, on new installation of the duplexer. Deformed switch actuator on the ADU Paper Stop Position 1 Sensor hangs up on the side of the slot for the flag. Reform or replace the switch actuator for the ADU Paper Stop Position 1 Sensor (QSW-Z0526FCZZ).

Blackcat's descriptions and solutions to the jams experienced on these machines is PERFECT! If only Sharp could provide information in such a clear and concise manner. The advise was so good I had to give a thumbs up. Good luck tonight in the World Series!

                  Re: POD1-S jam

I discovered a number of years ago that I can't possibly remember every fix. But if I take a few minutes to document well and enter it into a spreadsheet, I can find the information again anytime. If I don't document well it's a waste of time.

                  Compliment recognized. Thanks. =^..^=

I second this, I wish I had documented these repairs starting 40 years ago instread of relying on my memory, which I can't trust much anymore.
