Re: Tools For the Job
I'll add spring hooks, patting powder, metho/cleaners and lubes.
Other tools I always carry in the car include multi-meter, socket set (for shredders and some finishers), spare rags and a spare 3M filter.

A C-ring spreader for the new fusers is also needed. Not a fun rebuild to begin with, so a proper tool goes a long way.

Re: Tools For the Job
AFAIK there is no official list, but you have a vast resource of experience here.
As screwdrivers go, I have several:
Schroeder 47473 Magnetic #2 Phillips (nice balance and heavy)
Craftsman 16" #2 for long reach
Craftsman 47478 Offset ratchet for 1/4" bits
1 1/2" #2 Phillips bit (for Leopard/Andromeda tray #1 rollers)
1/4" Flat Blade for E-clips
As nippers go, I use three types:
Very small and sharp for corona wire (only purpose). Even nail clippers will do.
Medium for wire and ties
Large heavy-duty for rough-shaping plastic or cutting coat hanger (onsite parts manufacture)
I'm constantly re-assessing my tools. If I could carry every tool I wanted the case would weight several hundred pounds. If I can keep the toolcase under 38 lbs my shoulder does not separate when I carry it. =^..^=Attached FilesLeave a comment:
