    MX-C40NRB vs. MX-C40NRS

Before realizing it we installed the color drum (C40NRS) into an MX-B402SC. Is in machine working but stated yield is only 30K vs. 72K on the C40NRB. Vendor shipped us wrong drum in error in case you're wondering how it happened...All I can see upon review here is that there is a small tab at the underside near the green 'latch' handle that should have prevented us from installing this drum (but didn't).
Any thoughts on yield issues or other problems? If they are truly interchangeable then I would pick the black drums for use in color positions if they are cross-compatible due to price. I'm assuming the actual drum is the same but don't have enough experience on this series.

    Re: MX-C40NRB vs. MX-C40NRS

As these machines are fairly new I can't foresee anyone being able to give an accurate answer as of yet. Though I am making an assumption in this statement... You can be the flagship tester for this! Let us know how it turns out, from what I've seen there's little discernible difference in the drum units of the MXC/MXB series between the colour and the black. It stands to reason that the colour drum acting as a black drum will be achieving the same results that the black drum will in your monochrome machine. My only thought is that it wouldn't perform its own maintenance clears as they normally do if a part is replaced while the machine is powered down.
Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?
