    AR-208D spf does not feed

I have one that the spf never feeds the original. The solenoid is all the fires. Is the main board on the copier is most likely problem? Thanks Ron

Do you get the message check SPF/RSPF? If so you may want to open up the optics and remove the scanner rail. Wipe it down good, most likely will hav black sticky film on it. Litely lubricate and reinstall. Also run the OC Float simulation 41-06 using the 10 sheets of paper.

The document feeder board doesn't do much on these machines. It's just a connector board, routing connections to the copiers PCU PWB.

Before ordering the PCU, I think I'd spend some time checking the document feeder's paper sensors just in case there's a blocked or dirty sensor.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

All the sensors work fine. The carriage unit goes to the right and the solenoid fires the motor does not. Never get CHECK SPF/RSPF.

Sorry, I meant to say MCU PWB. In the end the result is the same. There's only one board. =^..^=

There is a small connector (2 pin I think) on the scanner board that comes loose or is disconnected, it's very easy to overlook. Check to make sure this is seated properly. Had this happen on one of our 208's and had the exact same problem.

            Good luck.

Does anyone have any more details on SIM 41-06. I am having a similar issue to the OP, but I am not familiar with this SIM. What is the value that you typically get? I don't see anywhere in the manual about putting paper on the glass. Is this done on an AR-208D? I did find an old service bulletin that says to use 40 pages!!! But that is for different models.

              Number: MFP-SB-094 Date: September, 2006

              Models: AR-168S/168D, AL-1651CS/1655CS/1661CS, FO-DC550

This seems to describe exactly what I am seeing though. Anyone have any additional details on SIM 41-06?

just had one with same problem , no error messages, doc feed didn't initialize when turning on power, the motor wouldn't come when making copy again no errors would just copy off the glass, was the mcu board

on the ar208d the 41-6 oc float adjustment reads the black lines on the white plate on the adf (above the scan glass) . The adjustment in the ar208 manual doesn't mention putting paper on the glass. Also if the black lines are worn and you don't have a new white sheet to put on the guide a sharpie is very handy.

The lines are still there. The machine only has 15k on it. Everything appears fine, but this adjustment will come back "OK" several times, then randomly come back as an error.

Is there a "normal value" that is returned from this adjustment. I kept getting 4194 range (4192 was the lowest, 4195 was the highest)
