I checked the scanner slit glass and it definitely is clean, what could be the cause of the line (burned out LED bulb?) Thank you.

I wouldn't think so, not if it is fine off glass. Maybe under glass. I have even seen a piece of hair in DF cause it. Paper goes through and pushes hair across slit glass and after scan, hair would curl back into paper path and not be seen. -

If the scanner rail gets gummy, light source #1 can hang at a slight angle under the slit glass. The contaminant is probably on light source #1, just not in the center of the mirror's reflective area.
First clean and lubricate the scanner rail with a very small amount of straight 30W motor oil. Then clean all the mirrors all the way to the edge.

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Just a thought i think there was a firmware that changed the position of the scanner assembly to help prevent this from happening. I am just shooting from my memory on this one it may have only been the AR-160 / AR-200 series that had the firmware update. Good luckComment

it is probably dirty optic glass. (The top optical glass single glass on right side) will cause a line if dirty on ADF jobs but not glass jobs sometimes. I usually clean all 3 mirrors when in there just to avoid a recall later.Comment
