We have just installed a Sharp MX-2700n copier/scanner. Trying to setup network scanning. Getting a 'CE-OO' error. Have correctly entered ip address, subnet, and gateway, as well as domain and dns server info. Have created a unique domain user account for access giving full permissions to this user for the network folder where we will be saving scanned documents. Anyone have information on what to look for, or what we can check to determine where problem might be?

Re: Scaning
CE-OO is a generic network communication error. What server OS are you scanning to? Have you domain qualified the username (i.e. domain/username or username@domain)?

Re: Scaning
The only two other possibilities could be either the firmware may be out of date (most likely) or you may need to lower the NTLM authentication.
(Does 2008 default to Kerberos? If so a firmware update is definitely needed; just checking the firmware updates from 2010.)Comment

Re: Scaning
Type the network path into the "Run" box of Windows. If you cannot get to it from the PC, you have a permission issue and will not get the copier to work until permissions are properly set on the server.

Re: Scaning
Yes, we only get the code when scanning. Printing to the copier from workstations works fine. Can you tell me how to ping the server from the copier? Thanks!Comment

Re: Scaning
Our copier technician said he had checked the firmware and it is the latest version. I will check the NTLM authentication. Thanks!Comment

Re: Scaning
Yes, I am able to get the network path from the workstation PC, so it appears the permissions is working okay.Comment

Re: Scaning
Log in as admin at the copier, go to network settings, page down and you'll find the ping command - type in the server's IP address."You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus" --Comment

This is a firmware issue, sharp is working on the frontier series fix now. Then they will work on the older series of machines like yours. I had the same problem with the 2600 series. They released a firmware update and the problem went away..... so sharp is aware of the problem.Comment
