    [Dead] MXM753

    Hi first post on here hoping someone out there may have seen this.I have a MXM753U which will not power up, no display,fans come on for 30 secs then the psu voltages disappear. It will power up if HDD discoonected and displays HDD error.It also powers up if you try the emergency firmware procedure and completes firmware update but still wont power up when put back to default any help or ideas would be massively appreciated

    Check your memory modules. Take them out and insert them and try again or better yet swap with known good ones. When we had this happen it was because we were missing one of the memory modules.

      so if the hdd is connected it wont power up, but if u disconnect it it will power up but has hdd error?

      sounds to me u have a bad hdd, they will stop a sharp from booting up

            u can use generic hdd's it just has to be formated in ntfs cant be formatted in fat32. only takes a couple of minutes to format a new hdd. and is around 70 bux comapared to sharp 180

              A Quick update on the solution to this problem it turned out to be a faulty PCU circuit board replaced it today and the machine booted up fine
