    [CQ] Sharp MX-2700

Two questions has anyone have any comments about Katun toner for the Sharp MX-2700 copiers? The other questions is when I rebuild the primary transfer units the fill is somewhat weak. When I buy the the whole assembly it seems to be much better. When I replaced the belt and the rollers I think I followed all the directions including placing the serial # on the belt towards the front frame. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Do you do proper colour calibration procedures after replacing the primary belt?

No I only reset the counters. On the previous one I did all the calibrations and it still was weak on solids. I will go through and do the calibrations and let you know if they improved things. One other question regarding calibration on the test chart adjustment when it says to repeat it 3 times do you use the same self generated test chart or use the new one each time?

I repeat the sim right from the menu each time so it saves the results between calibrations. The solids on these 23/27 and their cousin 35/45 machines never were the greatest. What's the meter at? When was the last time the secondary transfer belt was replaced?

There's a complete list of calibrations to perform after replacing parts, and it really does help the colour quality.

Use the new one each time. Yes it sucks and takes alot more time than the never models but that is how Sharp teaches it in class.

Are you cleaning up your follower rollers and transfer roller? If those are coated there is a noticeable difference in quality.

I have to eat a little crow on this one. The problem was the secondary transfer belt. The plastic bearing on the front frame side was installed on the out side of the housing. I opened the side door and noticed that the belt was bunching up. When I took it apart and put it back together the right way it solved the problem. I didn't mention that the copier came from a leasing company. Thanks for all of your help. lastly does anyone have any comments on katun toner.

I can't help but feel partly responsible after asking about the secondary transfer belt. Glad to be of assistance.

You were a lot more than a little responsible. Your time and consideration is very much appreciated. Some times a fresh perspective is much needed.
