    F1-17 mxm850. (Mxfnx5 finisher)

    Hi,
live got an mxm850 with an mxfnx5 finisher. I'm getting "f1-17 check power to finisher" displayed when the machine is switched on. All power connectors are fine. There is full power to the finisher, all motors turn, staple unit moves to home position. All seems fine apart from this error code occurring on warm up. The only thing I noticed is that the red led on the main finisher pub flashes on then off and stays off. Maybe pwb fault? Anybody ever had this fault?
    thanks in advance

have you cheked sim 3-2 senser check to see if STPKHP is highlighted? also do sim 3-3 and see if STPK_M (M8) and see if the motor turns on...good luck.

check your outlet power also, i have had a headache at a cust location where the outlet volt was 204 (the min for opperation is 208) random codes, mostly finisher codes

        shared advise from another tech>>>

"That problem can be caused by the issue in the attached pictures. The staple bundle drive belt initializes on startup and comes to a stop when it hits the sensor. If the sensor is out of position, the exit belt passes the home position sensor and the engine displays the message to check power to the finisher + F1-17 code.

This is the sensor right inside the finisher, behind the compiling tray.
Almost everytime I've had that problem, it was this sensor out of place."

Just to let you all know the outcome of this fault. It turned out to be a very tightly crumpled piece of paper stuck underneath a junction turn gate inside the finisher (r2 section). It wasn't visible to see and it showed no jam. Very strange!
