ARM277 clearing Data Security on CHIPS ??

Will be going to this job early next week (50 miles away - so trying to get answers ahead of time)

Customer got M277 from another division with Data Security installed.

They hate it because they will send 5 or 6 small jobs from various stations and of course there is the clearing between each job which they interpret as "forever".
    QUESTION
Can we just do a flash version update and clear out the security or do we have to order in a set of flash sticks for main board and print controller etc.

    Thanks in advance

I've installed a few of these Data Security Kits which includes Eeproms. It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure you'll need the "regular" Eeproms. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks Blackcat. Yeah I've had one of our techs thinking the same as you. In talking to HyTech, their tech guy was saying you could update the Eprom but he wasn't 100% on that. I know the Data Security Eprom "looks" a lot different so I was leaning toward having to replace them but hoping that was not the case.

Not sure on the ARM277, but on most DSK's from sharp, be ready for a headache, even with the original eproms, or roms, the dsk marries itself to the machine, on such a level I was told, you would have to replaced every board in it, every chip, and re-flash it, and maybe, just maybe, it will take.
Not even the field guys, that go to the dealers, when they have a problem they cant solve with multi levels of tech support, know how deep the DSK goes...trust me, been there done that...had it happen on a MX b/w mach, one of the little toy models I called them MX-B 311 or something like that.
Take some Advil or something with you..read up on different firmware update methods....you may need to try them all.

Has the message time in the custom settings area been lowered to 1 second? Default is six and does seem to be forever. Might want to try that would be a lot less hassle.

Well sounds like potential " fun". I will call them first and have them change the setting to 1 second and see if that resolves.
