Re: Sharp Ar 5631 ADF problem after unplug socket from machine
If you replaced the ADF plug while the machine was still energized then you will need to replace the board located on the ADF. Did this one time myself!! Also check for bent pins on the ADF plug.
Good luck.

If this machine has 2 power switches then yes, there is always power to the boards unless both are turned off. In fact whenever messing with boards or optional equipment plugs I would recommend you unplug it from the wall just to be safe.Comment

Be safe; always unplug electrical equipment. Even when unplugging an option like DF you can encounter electrical dangers, also give the machine time to completely release its charge before plugging the DF back in. Not having worked on this model there is little help I can give except the generic stuff, firstly check that the sensors are clean and clear, and that there is no jam. (You would be suprised how many times someone has cleared a jam only to have another piece broken off inside.) If the sensor is photoreflective, make sure the cavity it looks into is clear. (If it has one.)Last edited by ruben; 05-21-2013, 10:10 PM.Comment

Re: Sharp Ar 5631 ADF problem after unplug socket from machine
Agreed. The damage usually result when you plug the accessory back in, while still live. If you do something stupid like unplugging a live accessory, don't plug it right back in! Turn completely Off, Unplug the copier from the wall, wait 10 minutes, then plug the accessory back in. It may survive. If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
