The MX-2700n I am working on is having the paper stop in the upper duplex area causing a jam error. If I pop open the front door to the internal finisher and use the green handle to slide the unit to the left, the paper is coming out about one inch. I can pull it out from there or from the right side after opening the right door. Could anyone seen this before and could tell me why the paper is just stopping there? I see no obstruction. The machine has about 350K on it. Maybe a drive motor? Thanks

What jam code are you getting? This would help us track it down. -

I'm not getting a code unfortunately, it just says "A misfeed has occured" in a pop-up box on the display. On repeatd test the originals were already out of the doc feeder when the jam occurs so I don't think the error is in the adf. It does not jam on every test run of about 7 two-sided originals , but just about every other test run.Comment

Go to simulation 22 jam history. There is a jam code. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

change the adu base frame . the adu base frame unit cracked or deformed due to heat by fusing.Comment

Could I ask anyone familiar with this model if there is a sensor in the door that if bad could cause the paper to stop when doing two-sided copies? It stops about an inch into the finisher but nothing is blocking it. Otherwise I will follow the advice from iky1978 to replace the adu base frame which I am not looking forward to! I guess I have to take the top of the machine off?Comment
