    Sharp MX-511N Custom Print Size

    Good evening,

I'm trying to print something for one of our clients on 12 x 12 paper (yes, the scrapbook size) on our Sharp MX-511N.

It won't let me set a custom size past 11.625 on the screen.

I would think the printer could handle it since it can handle 12 x 18 jobs, but maybe I'm wrong.

I'd love to avoid printing on 12 x 18 and slicing with a paper cutter due to the large quantities.

Might I have a driver error or am what I am trying to do just not possible?

    Thanks!

have you tried setting the bypass tray for that size? i have a school that prints the very large orange/yellow envelopes . had to set up a custom size for the bypass ( wouldnt allow the size on the trays) works well just have to clean the bypass tires and reg roller more often when they are running them, tends to coat the rollers. this was on a mxm453

If you're talking about the MX-5110N or MX-5111N, the brochure shows full bleed print size, but does not specify a feed tray that can feed it. I'm just guessing, but it probably must be fed from the bypass, and probably must have the optional right exit tray. Can somebody confirm that?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yea I tried the bypass tray and it won't let the Y past 11 and 5/8.

The whole thing doesn't make sense since it can print 12x18, but it just won't go past 11 5/8 for me...

I remember reading somewhere that the optional paper exit is the only output tray that can output full bleed. I'm not sure if this is the same model though.

Yes. The 5111 needs the right side exit tray for 12 x 18.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

I kind of have the same issue going on. How did you get the 9X12 envelope to print with out wrinkles? In my case there is always wrinkles. If I tell the machine that there is COM 10 envelope in the tray and put the 9 by 12 envelope in there it does not wrinkle. But it has to be the proper size and type in order to print from computer program that I am printing from. Has anyone else out there had this issue?
