[CQ] Sharp MX2301n - Streaks

Hi Guys,

I have a 2301 machine in the field which is leaving streaks that look very much like drum lines. It started with the black so I rebuilt the drum using the sharp kit, no problems.

Then the magenta started doing the same, so I changed that kit also, was fine for 7weeks then it started streaking again.....so I put another kit in, this time it was only fine for about a week, now its doing the same thing again.

Spoken to one sharp guy, he seems to think that the magenta dev has gone off and is overtoning and the resulting toner dust leaving the dev unit is getting on the charge grid and causing the streaks.

Now with the high cost of the coloured devs Im reluctant to chuck them in for the sake of it.....anybody else run into this problem before?

I would be surprised if the Dev has gone off.

i would try putting a new drum unit in the in the magenta section first to see if that cures if first.

also please make sure the firmware is up todate. Version 02.05.L2

you couldlook at the Transfer Blade as well just to make sure its cleaning the belt properly
