MX-850 with MX-FNX6 says "Add Staples".

Have seen this on some of the older finishers but can remember what the issues was. Im leaning towards the wire harness, but cant see anything physically wrong with it. I have reseated every connection from the stapler to the board. Not sure if its even detecting a staple cartridge as it isnt even attempting to feed the staples forward. Any help would be appreciated.

We have had this a couple of times and it has always been the cartridge. I would try this 1st. alot easier and cheaper.

i had this same problem a few days ago. all i did was push some staples forward in the cartridge and that fixed the problem.

have seen some cartridges go bad and cause this. and have seen (several times) the band of staples will break inside the clear part so it cant pull them forward anymore. u can take it apart and hand feed the roll of staples back into the feed portion of the staple cartridge or just replace the staples
