    [Electrical] MX-3501 firmware update failed

    I've got a mx-3501n in the shop that failed a firmware update. Now when it boots up I get the sharp splash screen for a couple seconds then a blank screen with "Main Program Error!! ". I can get to the CN update screen but can't get the update from USB to work with the .SFU file.

      rename the file emupdate.sfu plug in usb and power on.

      make sure nothing else is on the thumb drive

              just a thought but do u have a security kit installled on the copier, if so u will have to emupdate the security firmware.

                  You might be able to access the service web page even though the boot doesn't finish and upgrade that way.

                      I have a firmware upgrade that went sideways as well. The update from the servicepage was successful. However, after the power cycled at the B402 the screen was scrambled/skewed. I can print to it and subsequent firmware updates yielded same results.

                      Maybe a rom? Screen failed or bad data to screen?
