    AR-M270E blank copies

I have a brand new AR-M270E copier /scanner. I have installed the toner and developer units. I have removed the shipping lock pin that keeps the scanner head from moving. The unit does not have any error messages. It will process the ciopy request without any abnormalities, but when you pick the copy out of the sorter it is blank no toner/text or graphics. I have even left the lid open to make a total black copy still only blank white paper in the sort. I would appreciate any assistance anyone has on this problem.

Have you tried to stop the copy and look to see if there is an image on the drum. If there is one there then it must be with the transfer part or vice versa. I haven't come across this yet but that is where I would start. Also check the wiring to the transfer. I have had them be very loose and cause all kinds of trouble.

    Good Luck!

Are you sure: AR-M270E? I just came from www.sharpusa.com and they have no reference to this model.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Problem Resolved

Thanks Guys for the replies. I found and downloaded a service manual for this unit and spoke with a real copier technician in Texas. Since I now had the manual he was able to point me in the right direction. It seems that this copier comes void of developer, but it did have a toner cartridge. Since my field is Industrial electronics my copier knowledge is limited. I have never had to disassemble a copier to replace or fill a consumable product, but that is what this copier called for. I will post the notes I am leaving for the other electronic technicians that are assigned to this ship. I was merely passing through and trying to help. Please excuse the caps in the following text. They are required within their maintenance program and i did not want to retype it just to change the case.

THIS MODEL COPIER REQUIRES THAT THE DEVELOPER BE ADDED INDEPENDENTLY.and IS SOLD SEPERATELY
IT WILL COME IN A SILVER BAG AND NOT IN A CONATINER.

        TO REPLACE THE DEVELOPER
        REMOVE THE TONER CARTRIDGE
THERE IS A SHELL LEFT BEHIND WHEN YOU REMOVE THE TONER CARTRIDGE. ALONG THE TOP SECTION OF THIS SHELL, IN THE CENTER IS A BLUE SCREW. LOOSEN THIS SCREW UNTIL NO RESISTSANCE IS FELT. IT WILL NOT FALL OUT. PLEASE DO NOT PULL IT OUT OF PLACE.
REMOVE THIS SHELL AND PLACE IT ON A PEICE OF CARDBOARD AS YOU WILL MAKE A MESS THAT WILL BE HARD TO CLEAN UP IF NOT ON CARDBOARD.
LOOKING AT THE TOP YOU WILL SEE 2 SCREWS ON ONE EDGE. THIS IS KNOWN AS THE FRONT SIDE.
THERE IS ALSO THREE SCREWS ALONG THE BACK EDGE. I REMOVED THESE JUST TO HAVE BETTER ACCESS.
REMOVE THE TOP PART OF THE SHELL AND SET IT ASIDE.
LOOK INSIDE THE REMAINING SHELL AND YOU WILL SEE ONE SCREW ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN THE SHELL. REMOVE THIS SCREW.
THE FRONT DEBVELOPER ASSEMBLY WILL NOW SEPERATE FROM THE TONER SHELL.
ONCE IT IS REMOVED YOU WILL SEE THAT AN AUGER HAS BEEN EXPOSED.
YOU POUR THE DEVELOPER ALONG THIS AUGER. DO NOT BUMP OR SHACK THE DEVELOPER UNIT AS IT WILL COME OUT THROUGH THE METALLIC ROLLER ALONG THE FRONT EDGE IF YOU DO SO.
SPREAD THE TONER OUT AS EVENLY AS POSSIBLE ALONG THE AUGER USING A SMALL SCREWDRIVER.
REINSTALL DEVELOPER ASSEMBLY TO THE TONER CARTRIDGE SHELL IN REVERSE ORDER.
SLIDE THE SHELL BACK INSIDE THE MACHINE AND RETIGHTEN THE BLUE SCREW.
        REINSERT THE TONER CARTRIDGE.
        RESTART THE MACHINE.
YOU WILL NEED TO CLEAR THE COUNTERS WITHIN THE MACHINE MANUALLY USING THE SIMULATION MODE OF THE MACHINE. IT IS SIMULATION NUMBER 24 AND 25 WITH SEVERAL SUB ROUTINES. PLEASE LOOK IN THE MANUAL I BOUGHT AND PRINTED OUT TO SE HOW TO ACCESS THESE MENUS.

Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

i was not refering to this group

By a real tech i was refering to the fact that I am not a copier technician. I am industrial electronics and instrumentation tech. I will excuse the comments made towards me and chaulk it up as a misunderstanding.

I apologize for any nasty remarks.

The world is full of customers that tell us our business. Most of the time we can't just tell them to Foad (though we'd like to). Sometimes we just get a little touchy about it.

                  I hope you understand.
