    FO-2080 Undertoned

I have an FO-2080 that will keep undertoning about every 200 images.
It is used only for faxing so it is all print and no pictures.
The first time I replaced the toner cortridge thinking it was not adding toner properly or the toner density sensor was bad.(I also replaced the drum unit)
The next time I replaced the MCU PWB since the toner density sensor is read by it and the toner add motor is controlled by it.
I know the toner motor is good since I keep toning up the developer with simm 10 which runs the toner motor.
After toning up the developer I get good prints.

Machine has 12K images on it.
I have stopped the machine during the copy cycle and found no excess toner on the drum.
I have stopped the machine just after the copy cycle and found no toner on the drum.
There is no toner or developer accumulating in the machine.

    HELP!!

    Re: FO-2080 Undertoned

I had an FO-2080 doing the same thing, except mine was in a kitchen right beside a meat slicer. They really don't fare well with humidity, I would attribute it to a weak procon system. They wound up getting a new machine because they refused to remove it from the kitchen.

I would investigate environmental factors in your case. Make sure it's operating within an acceptable range for humidity according to the service manual.

It is in an office setting about 10 feet from an MX-3110N that is operating properly.

That 3110 has a much better procon system than a dinky little FO-2080. I would still advise checking the RH in that office to see how it's doing.

The humidity is good at the office.

They do not turn off or back the A/C or the heat.
