    AR-M257 light streaks

I need to clean the laser glass above the drum to hopefully fix some light streaks in the paper feed direction. I pretty much ruled out almost every other possibility - drum, blade, developing assm, transfer, fuser - all not causing the problem.

What's the best way to do it on this machine? Does it come out, or do you have to put a rag on ruler or something to get to it? I'm a Canon tech and don't normally work on many Sharps.

Pull toner cartridge out, one screw to release DV unit, and pull drum unit out (open side door first) - you'll see the LSU slit glass on the underneath side of cavity. Shine a flashlight after cleaning to see if it is all clean.

So I can just reach in with a rag and clean it? OK. Thanks.

Yes, you can reach right in there once the toner, developing unit, and drum unit are clear.

Unless you're in a horribly dirty environment, you should never need to clean inside the laser. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
