    Faded Image Repeating on MX-4101N

Normally when I see a faded image repeat on an MX-4101N I can fix it by replacing a drum. I've got one in the shop here that had this problem a few weeks back, replaced the black drum, problem solved. Now the problem came back today, but only on heavyweight bond. (Through the bypass tray, haven't tried in a cassette tray at all.) The Sharp is aware that this is heavyweight media, and is being sent as such when printing. I wouldn't think that the drum would be problematic so soon.

I can replace it again, but since you've been the brilliant minds that have helped solve many problems before, I figure I should get your opinion first. What have you noticed cause this problem?

You haven't said yet if the media is within machine specs. Just because the enduser chose heavy media type, doesn't mean that the paper may still be to heavy for this machine. Don't guess: document, measure. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The drum doesn't actually come in contact with the media so its unlike to be an issue with the drum/cleaning blade.

Most problems that only happen on heavier media tend to be fusing issues, a few things that really don't help are if the paper is both heavy and glossy and also if you are trying to duplex the paper.

What weight is the paper, does it correspond with heavy paper 1, or heavy paper 2.

The Sharp may know that it has heavy paper but does the computer also know this.
