[Jamming] Sharp MX-2640N SPPD3_N Sensor Jamming

    Good morning my fellow techs,

I've come across an intersting problem yesterday. On a Sharp MX-2640N's document feeder, every page I attempted to run through jammed upon contact with the SPPD3_N sensor (About 90 times in all, from what the machine history showed). I read Dave's post about the same issue on a MX-M453N (http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/sh...-DSPF-jam-code) and after checking the SRRC clutch, that worked fine. I checked all the surrounding motors and those seem to be good as well. After checking the sensor itself in a test, it worked fine too. All of this done, I've decided to go ahead and change the sensor any way just to elimate that as the issue. Strange thing is, I can't locate the part number for it. There's a picture of it in the parts guide but when the part number is entered on SharpNet it shows up as a "Bearing". Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. - Yes, I did call tech support and yes, I did update the firmware.

Yup! As soon as I entered the part number from the guide, SharpNet automatically changed it to the updated number. Thanks!

Nope. I haven't fully taken it apart but I did remove the front and rear cover of the DSPF and that was a struggle. I'm definitely not looking forward to this one...

Removing the entire feed assembly isn't really too difficult. The top cover that houses all the sensors is the real problem. I get it to the point it's ready but there's just one spot that's hung up and I just cant seem to locate where. I'm afraid to break it if I get any more forceful.

Actually access to the sensor is easy once the feed unit is removed. Flip it over and loosen the two anchor screws for the steel pf guide ( w/ white mylar) pivot it out of the way and there it is right there out in the open...

I've had that problem 3 times already, I swapped sppd3 sensor with sppd4 sensor and still had the same problem. It's not the sensors it's the ADF driver board.

Sharp has had an issue with all the sensors in these machines there is a tech bulletin about it.

Yeah, I've seen it and tried replacing all sensors with the new part number ones, still had to replace driver board.

I know this is old but I had a SPPD3_N jamming issue also and it turned out to be the doc feed board also.
