We have an MX5500N that whenever we print or copy in color the black looks purple. When we do B/W the black looks fine. We have run all the calibrations for color quality. Nothing seems to change it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: MX5500N Black looks purple
No it is more than just that. I have other similar machines here in the shop that dont do this. It does it a great deal on the grey scale more than the solid blacks when we use a test chart. Also the blues are coming out really dark purple.Comment

Re: MX5500N Black looks purple
It sounds like you've got a yellow problem.
Composite black is equal parts yellow, cyan, magenta.
Most blues have cyan and yellow
If yellow is missing composite black becomes only cyan + magenta = purple. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
