    AR-F152 with error L6-10 (Laser)

I have never had to change a laser unit or polygon motor on one of these smaller AR machines or the Al series. I have many times on the AR 200 series and others.

I am wondering if this is a false code and what I might try outside of cleaning laser mirror /shield etc. I memory is starting to fail me on this. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

Frank, try upgrading customer to another machine - the code usually can be cleared, but will soon return. It's a major disassemble to get the LSU out.

Yup. You must first remove the document feeder, whole scanner assy, exit assembly, duplex assembly, exit tray, then the laser. And this really isn't much of a copier, and 10 years old. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks David. I had realized the futility of changing the laser unit. It is just that i have serviced quite a number of Al series and small ar series(ar150s, 168S +D ,208S+D and never faced the prospect of having to change an LSU.

That's why I entertained the possibility that it was a laser code but not a replacement necessity. I will post results. I'll be prepared to offfer a replacement machine. Frank

Customer opted to fix machine rather than to replace with comparable unit. There was low volume on machine and I had not serviced machine since May 2011 so customer had good history with machine. Customer agreed to do job for $345 which included initial call to evaluate. I was really surprised that it to only 70 minutes9timed it). I did a practice run night before on an Al-1551.

That's quick. The symptom that I've seen for the laser is image registration shifts to the front or rear 25mm to 75mm. If you try to adjust in service mode there just isn't enough adjustment to compensate. =^..^=

Maybe I should have been more clear. When i said repair rather than repalcement unit i was talking about replacement machine. I did replace the LSU and would not take every thing apart just to try to adjust or oil the original one in there. Sorry for the confusion. Frank
