I have an Mx5001 Sharp color copier with color quality issues. DV, drum units, Primary transfer unit, and main drive unit, all replaced. Calibrated machine, but I get a C_HV_ERR code with the TC 44-6 and a C,M,Y error with TC 44-26. Customer can print a map from computer and the quality looks great, but when they try to make copies, it looks more brown and yellow than green (no cyan on copies?). Ive checked the LSU shutter motors. I think the other parts I haven't replaced have been the secondary transfer unit, and the LSU. Any suggestions would be welcomed and appreciated.

C_HV_Err seems to be a high voltage problem. I'd suggest cracking out your meter and tracing the line...Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil? -

I thought HV referenced high voltage, but in the manual shows the error to be a high density error (but I know that it could still be connected to an electrical issue). The thing that is confusing to me, is that the prints look perfect. Its only when copying that there is a huge difference in color quality. If it was a high voltage PWB or even a connector issue, wouldn't the self prints and computer generated prints be affected as well?Comment

Re: MX5001N-Bad copies, good prints. TC 44-6 and 44-26 Failure
Higher voltage will pull more toner, thereby increasing the density, so either way it's correct. It seems like your print engine is properly calibrated, but only your copy engine is out of whack.
From the info you've given, your problem seems limited almost exclusively to cyan. I would still trace the 5v line to your cyan dev unit and see if your readings are where they should be.Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?Comment
