Sharp MX-3501N Application Integration - Bates Stamping

    Hello,

Has anyone configured this machine with a third-party application to perform Bates Stamping?

One of our clients may upgrade their current copy machine to the Sharp MX-3501N if we can get the Bates Stamping Integration Module to work efficiently. We have the copier setup for demo purposes and installed a Bates Processing application on one of their computers. The application we are using is known as Drivve. Does anyone have experience with this program?

Everything is working; however, when the documents are scanned and sent to the computer, the processing time is very slow. For example, a 250-page document may take more than an hour to process. When using the standard FTP scan or Sharp's Network Scanner Tool, the same document takes less than a couple of minutes with the same machine. We tampered with compression and DPI settings, but there is no improvement. Drivve support also indicates this may take a while for processing.

I was thinking the processing time is taking a while due to the processor and memory, but before we purchase or setup a much faster computer, I want to be sure this is the last resort. Our client does not want to see the estimate go up anymore.

I also know there are applications that do not integrate with the Sharp Copier machines; however, we want everything controlled by the copier panel. Does anyone have any suggestions with this software? Or, can anyone offer alternative integrated programs that are known to have faster processing times? My eye is starting to twitch due to stress.

Our companies website is www.omscopiers.com where we have the MX-3501N specifications and options listed if this may help others understand the machine I am setting up.

    Thank you,

    Aaron

Hi Aaron, I have limited experience with Drivve, but I can understand the eye twitching thing. We have a setup in our showroom that is working pretty well, but I haven't tried a 250 page document with bates stamping.
In the "processing" field the more boxes checked will slow down processing. Also, under Image Processing, the more boxes (despeckle, deskew, etc) that are checked, the longer the processing.

Thank you for your input... Most checkboxes and options are disabled. The one feature I always left enable was converting the scanned document to a 'Searchable' (OCR) PDF.... Maybe, if I disable this feature and leave the scanned documents as a TIFF format, then the processing time will be significantly reduced. I will try this and let you know. Thanks again.
