There are also a couple of plastic catches at the bottom of the hinge posts. All you need to do is disconnect the cable, string the cable back through the hole, pull up, and flail about until it lets go.
I must tell you though that the two main problems with this particular DF are:
1) black plastic snaps designed to keep the top door shut, break off and get caught up in the turnaround. Requires major disassembly to remove the broken bits.
2) Gray registrations rollers get dirty and slip. Clean all rollers. Requires major disassembly.
These two will fix 9 of 10 calls. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
I use a small flat tip screwdriver to assist in removing the catches as Blackcat mentioned. Have not had any break, and the scratches from the screwdriver remain on an area very likely to never be seen by the customer (if they do see it somehow, you have other issues on hand; like why is the customer trying that hard to take off the doc feed?).
Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?
