I have had these in the field for a few months now with minimal issues. However, the past 6-8 weeks or so I am noticing that the copies on these newer models are washed out. Color is good but extremely week on blacks, and grayscale look like hell if they even show up. Our sales team does a good job and keeps pumping these things out so these machine do not sit in the warehouse for long. A week or two at the most; these are coming "hot off the presses". I have 30-50 that are "fine and dandy" but lately, this is becoming an issue.
From top to bottom color, mono, and the actual test chart. Notice how weak the top two are. The scan doesn't really do it justice.

I have tried at least all these and I am sure I forgot a few:
-The usual exposure tweaks in user settings, all CCD/ adjustment including shading sheet, SIT chart, and gamma adjustments in sim 63, damn near every SIM 46 I could tweak, setting targets to different definitions and creating custom targets, memory dumps , chips swaps, a different SCU board this morning because I had one, and whole lotta coffee and cussing.
Now for the kick(s) in the tool bag.
The only fix I have found is to wipe the entire machine using Initialize Private Data under security settings. This generally takes about 2 hours and if installed, creates more hassle. This example is, from bottom to top, the print, copy before the wipe, and copy after the wipe. The middle one is the washed one. The top is the recovery after wiping.
The machine in my office has dirty glass so that is the cause of the lines in the scans, sorry folks.
Now for kick number 2, sometime the wipe works, sometime not, about 50/50. After discovering wiping and recovering the CQ, I upgraded to 3.00 firmware and the CQ dropped out again. Had to wipe one yesterday twice before the CQ came back. The one upgraded to 3.00 has been wiped twice, no luck. I am going to try downgrading firmware next.
So today I set one up myself, step by step, using generally the same procedure used for years now. The same procedure used for all my "fine and dandy" machines. After the setup, the copies looked like hell.
Am I missing something; any one else seeing this?
Any help from the collective, as always, is greatly appreciated.
