    [Misc] Toner dump AR-M455U

I just did two 200,000 service on a couple machines. The first went well but the second is a mess. When I opened it up toner was everywhere to include the bottom drawer, This was causing paper feed problems due to all the toner on the media. I cleaned up the machine, replace the DV, Drum, toner cartridge and fuser. As soon as I fireed it it made perfect copies and functioned great. No miss-feeds, jams or bad copies. When I opened up again toner was again all over the insides. Thinking maybe I installed a bad component I swapped out with the machine I had finished. It did not change anything on either machine. First machine was still operating perfect while second dumped toner.
It appears the toner is coming from the rear of the drum where it attaches to the motor. Nothing appears to be damaged anywhere.
Has anyone experience this with the AR455?

Have you investigated the waste toner delivery system? I had an auger break so that it couldn't move the waste toner back to the cartridge.

Ditto that. Remove the drum from the drum unit, then turn the cleaning unit drive coupler. I've seen them break in a variety of ways:

      1) The "D" shaped shaft could spin within the "D" shaped cutout in the coupler
      2) The "D" shaped shaft could break just beyond the coupler
      3) the teeth snap off of the coupler/gear
      4) The post that supports the tiny idler gear snaps off of the cleaning unit main body.
      5) The tiny idler gear loses teeth
      6) The short auger at the front of the cleaning unit snaps in half

When you confirm it, the best solution is to order the cleaning unit assembly. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

This unit doesn't use any coronas.

Noted in OP's post that [s]he did not change transfer roller. Worn transfer roller will pull extra toner and disperse it all over the drum cavity.

True that. And if the transfer roller gear is worn, it will pull developer. =^..^=

But if a 200K maintenance was done the transfer roller would have been included with the kit. Right?

Roller, yes. Gear, no. They typically last only 2 PM cycles. =^..^=
