    ARM-237 counter integrity question

Just picked up an ARM237 which I paid $75 for. In good working condition. However the counter when "copy" key is held down or simulation 22/01 is entered shows about 35k. I suspect this is not the actual count and has somehow been reset. I know it was possible to do that on the older machines with alternate service entry and sim codes. Is there a way for me to verify if counter was altered?

When i sell machine I don't feel i can comfortably say that it has 35k on it. It looks good but closer to 135k. Let me know what you think. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

Take a look in simulation 22. Any anomalies should be obvious.

For example: 345,456 pages fed from tray #1, 35K total count.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Very mlow counts on trays. Much lower than the 35K in total. Must have been cleared as trays feeds total should within close range of total count. Understand machine was used strictly for copying.

It is a tough one. Like Blackcat says, it should be something in 22-6 that does not add up. Maybe look at the consumables. If drum looks like it has 75 K on it, or if it still looks good. The tray rollers could be a sign as well; maybe they cleared the counter, but did they replace them. At 35k, all the rollers should have tread on them, but they should be bare if they have 50 K.

Maybe the previous customer just didn't do much copying and was oversold or they really needed 11X17 capability.

22-6 should show a proper counter assuming they didn't change counter values in elevated simulations. Pranked a coworker with that, showed him a machine that did 10 million pages... He couldn't believe it.
