[Misc] MX-2700N Replace Cyan Developer message

    Hello All-
Have a MX-2700N that I went out and inspected today. All I did was remove the drums and dv units to check them and then reinstalled. Ran SIM 44-2 & 50-22 and followed the calibration procedure. Am going back as I need to do full *K* & Color pm's and had to order everything. Machine was operational when I left and I received a call from the customer about 4 hours later stating that "Replace Cyan developer unit" was on the op panel. I had this once before about 6 years ago on another Sharp machine but can't remember what fixed it. Checked Sharp IDNC bulletins but nothing helpful there. Any ideas?

sounds like a connector problem with the C-dev unit. You get a similar message if you install a 3501 DV unit into a 2700 due to the detection board on the bottom of the DV unit under the black plate.

FYI.....also get the same message with 3640 dv units in a 2640.

So... The obvious question... Did you re-seat the developer unit?

One other thing to check since you mentioned that you needed to do a Full color PM I am guessing the Drums and Developers are at 60K Be sure that Simulation 26 - (cant remember but it says disable printing when maint lights are on) something like this. Sorry dont have the book with me

I am not entirely sure, but this could be your problem as if could be set to tell the machine to basically stop coping if maint lights come on. Since I dont normally set machines this way I can't be sure if this would result in a replace developer unit message or not.

Chances are you didnt get the developer unit in just right, or possible there is not enough cyan developer left for the machine to auto calibrate with, had this happen once that resulted in a message like this once.
