ARM317 with error A0-01

Have customer with AR-M317 which evidently has Data Security kit installed. When I attempted to add Fax kit(FX7) I got an error A0-01 when machine was powered on. Is there a way around this. If i were able to get the fax rom card from DSK and installed on fax board connector C11 would that do the trick?
I don't suppose there is a way to disable data security through key operator function? Any assistance is appreciated. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

If you don't have the rom I'm pretty sure you can order from Sharp. You cannot disable DSK in system settings but you can remove it by replacing the roms with a regular set. Make sure that they don't want DSK because if you do this and then re-insert the DSK roms you will need the product key! Found this out the hard way, as usual! LOL

Thanks for the help Bil. I know they don't need the security as i just sold them the machine and thought the fax kit was already installed. So when i went to add it, as customer wanted fax option, i got the problem. Will keep you posted on results. Thanks again. Frank

I ran into this exact same thing recently. If you do not have the rom that came with the dsk its a no go. You will have to replace the dsk to get one with the roms. I guess the roms are married to that dsk. we just gave up on it for that machine.

I think you also have to install the original image board the on that piggy backs the main board, If you choose to remove the DSK
