    [Misc] Sharp ARM201 noisey

    Hi all,

    I have a Sharp ARM201 that makes a bit of a howling noise when doing copies from the paper tray (bypass is ok)

    It seems to happen just as paper has just got past reg assy (lead edge) and you can feel the machine vibrate.

    Im thinking possibly a noisey clutch, has anyone else here had a similar issue?
    Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

      Sounds like paper feed clutch needs cleaned. Over rotating feed roller due to too much torque on spring.

          Thanks for the reply...I will order feed clutch..hopefully this is the clutch where I can get to without stripping it to bits!!

              I had one of these series do this and it was on the front frame side of the registration roller. Behind the green handle used to clear jams. I just lubed bearing and spring and all was well. good luck . D.W.R.

                  The front registration bushing is the most common, but it can be the pickup or registration clutch also. Is the image registration late or early? =^..^=
                  If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                      Im leaning towards the feed clutch, i have lubed the front side reg bushing already, It does not make any noise on bypass so that rules out reg assy, perhaps over rotation of feed rollers and the paper is rubbing against them as already mentioned.

                      I have not noticed the registration being late or early.

                          Update

                          After replacing both reg and feed clutches the noise still persisted.

                          So i got some 3 in 1 and sprayed it along the shaft of the reg roller as it sounded a bit like the shaft was contacting the plastic frame around it.

                          After that the noise went ......for now
