    AL2060 Half White Copy

This AL2060 only copies half the page using 8.5x11. The drum is half covered with toner when we take it out. Rotating the drum manually and the cleaning blade will clean all the toner off the drum. We run 1 copy and that same half of the drum gets covered in toner but produces nothing on the resulting copy. That entire half of the page is still white. Any clues? We tried new toner, new Sharp toner, new drum, new Sharp drum. Transfer Charge unit in the door?

    Thanks.

Good possibility that it's transfer but if the drum is covered with toner you may suspicion the laser also. Try reseating the white cable that runs from the scanner to the main PWB also.

Also check that little grounding hoop that is next to the screw that holds the right door hinge to the rear frame. Make sure it's screwed down and giving a good ground.

Can you upload a sample copy? Is there a defined edge where the copied & blank meet? 8 1/2 x 14 are okay?

I think what oldrn is getting at is the paper size may be mis-programmed to statement sized, and the machine may be blanking out the remaining image.

What you need to to is get an operator's manual, and read about how the paper size is programmed for the copy paper in the tray. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The new part corrected the problem. Checked the paper config and everything was set to 8.5 x 11. We don't use any other size paper. I would not have thought to ever go and check the paper size for this issue since I set 8.5x12 years ago for the trays when we bought the machine.

Good info though ... And luckily it wasn't something that simple! That would have been wasted money on the part purchased.

What new part? Did you specify when I wasn't looking? =^..^=

Not that I saw, we may have to bring back Carnac the Magnificent.

We put in a new transfer corona unit. Cleaned the excess toner off the drum, and everything worked. Good clean, complete copies.
