If the machine is networked have you tried unplugging the network cable? If that solves it look for my post about a weird arm455 problem.

I've seen a bad power supply cause this. But first disconnect the network cable and boot up the copier. A shorted network connection can also cause it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

He had a case of a customer network causing the issues. Unplugged the cable and all was well. I wasn't the tech and I forget the specifics or end result.... but I did hear about it.

Seen a few of them lately, not sure exactly why it causes the machine to boot on and off, had a Kyocera the other day freeze up, wouldn't respond to any prodding, just sat on the ready to copy screen. We were racking our brains on site as to what the issue was, turns out the machine received a faulty print job, and to fix it the client tried messing with the network set up...

The machine was networked into a switch, which was then networked into itself, twice! So much excess cable it took us ages to figure it out...

Some PDF variants just seem to confuse them, particularly stuff that gets pulled of funky websites :/

Foxit PDF reader is a life saver in most cases with issues printing PDFs. Adobe used to be a solid product but over time it's gotten clunky and slow to respond, with a whole ton of features and interface redesigns that nobody asked for in the first place.

Any time a client has an issue printing PDF I direct them to Foxit. I would hazard a guess this only applies for machines that do not require a Fiery addon, however. I have none in my area so I can't speak with any certainty that it wouldn't cause any problems in that specific scenario. If someone could confirm that would be nice.

Had this same problem recently. Turned out to be a corrupt file in the printer que. Had customer delete all print jobs in que on their workstation and solved problem. If you unplug network cable and everything operates normally than this is your fix. Good luck!!!

I had this problem once with power over Ethernet not being wired right, causing a machine to reboot over and over.

Corrupt print job, disconnect ethernet cable, unplug machine. Find workstation or server print queue and delete all jobs restart print spooler if needed. power on machine once all workstations queue's are cleared and test. This is a common symptom on sharp machines when they receive funky print data, if the device has a poscript kit load ps drivers to pc's, this may help with printing pdf etc off of internet. Good luck out there.

P.S if you can find the job that causes this, instruct the customer to rebuild the job or document to cure.

This was a common issue with certain types of PDF files printed using the PS driver. I believe there is a firmware fix for it. You can delete the job, but if the customer tries to print it again, it will happen again. Change them to PCL or upgrade the firmware to the latest.

I know I'm late to the party but second this answer. I've seen bunk print jobs mess up the wacky ass printers. Bad print job hits the NIC, it just reboots over and over until that person deletes the outbound print job.

Maybe it's time they considered a newer machine
