    ar-m451u firm. update

    Hi
Today i try update a ARM-451U, and after finish the update the copier never more reboot, it is alwyas in the boot menu.
And if i try update again show the message. [All NG]
The firmware that i used is the version p1.17.
Seems that the main flash do not update.
I do not have another Arm-451u, but if i change the main flash with a 451N, the copier already reboot, but gives me e7-03, because do not have hdd.
So, any help thanks in advance.

Does the machine have the DSK or print option installed? If so, you may have the wrong frimware.

Mate, one question, if by mistake i flash the copier with a wrong firmware for ex. With a N models firmware, after i can flash with a corret firmware?
May be ,i by mistake have sent a wrong firm. (n1.17, n models), i do not know if is because this that now the corret firm. (p1.17) gives me always All NG.

          Re: ar-m451u firm. update

You can re-flash this with the correct firmware, it should work. You were using the section B update procedure correct? What's the worst that can happen right! Or if you have any other ROM's available (doesn't matter which version) you can reflash each individual ROM using slot CN6 per rom update procedure SM section 12 starting at page 2 section C.

Be advised if you do it this way any product keys that have been entered may be lost. Had this happen to me when I screwed up a ROM update with a DSK kit installed. After I corrected the problem I had to re-enter all of the product keys to get it to work correctly again.

          Good luck.

            Hi mate
Unfortunaly, i already try re-flash with the corret firmw. That is v p1.17, because i hsve s room Ar-p20/ar-cn7, but without sucees, always i get the result. ALL NG., and the copier is always in the boot menu, not work.

And, for do a flash copy i do not have another U model, i have a lot ar-451 but N models.
            Thanks mate

You can use your N models machines to flash U ROMs if you use the CN6 slot and the correct firmware update procedure. Doesn't make any difference as you are only updating the firmware to that slot. Have done it this way a loooooong time ago but it works just fine in a pinch.

              Have a great day.

                Ok Billy
i already do it, funny that the upgrade whit the corret firm. show me the message OK, but whent i put in the copier again, always stay in boot menu, not work......

if i upgrade with the firmware from main N models flash room, the copier already start, but of corse show me the message E7-03 , becuase there are not hdd , and if i put a normal IDE 40GB hdd , do not work to.

So i m looking for one AR-m451U, for take the flash room and make a copy, (clone), mi problem is because i only have N models.

                many thanks mate.

Do you have a fax unit attahced to this? Had that happen once with fax attached. Needed to turn both off before it would return to normal state. It was pretty weird but something I always remembered after that! LOL

                  Good luck.
