[Misc] Ar-M162 Load irroneous load paper

I have a well used AR-m162 that I've been working on for some time. It now says to laod paper in drawer 1 but paper is already in it. I change the sensor but still have the same mesage.

You might be experiencing a paper size mismatch. What size are you requesting? What size is displayed for that tray? What size is actually loaded in the tray?

It's usually pretty simple. This machine has no way of sensing the paper size in the tray, so it's relying on you to program the paper size correctly. So, for example, someone has changed the paper orientation from LTR-R to LTR, but has not changed the programmed to reflect the same change.

So you send a print job. The driver is defaulted to LTR. The tray is programmed to LTR-R. The paper size does not match, so it asks you to "Load LTR Paper", not LTR-R.

So here are the three questions you have to answer:
What paper size are you requesting?
What paper size is displayed for that tray?
What paper size is actually loaded in the tray?

    =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The answer to the questions are:
      8 1/2 X 11
      8 1/2 X 11
      8 1/2 X 11

The machine has but one tray and says it is sent for 8 1/2 X 11 and shows tray empty. Original is again 8 1/2 X 11 (either using ADF or platen). I have tried changing paper size for both original and the tray ( 8 1/2 X 14) etc. Get the same message to load paper in tray. Using the manual feed tray presents no problems.

Troubleshooting 101. Does the sensor change state at the MCU pwb?

It does not. I have replaced the sensor.

Cut harness? Bad new sensor? Broken actuator?

It could be the tray switch at the back of the machine that tray tang hits for tray present. Remove the switch, pry off the little black cover, wipe the grease off the contacts with alcohol, and reassemble.

The machine recognizes the tray is present; it just not register that paper is in the tray. The tray lifts as it supposed to. Do we have a PWB issue?

sim mode 30-1 check that C1EMP is highlighted when you manually move sensor flag. if sim mode shows sensor is working, the lift up springs in paper tray may need replacing or there is a board for the paper tray that could be faulty, if paper empty sensor plugs into the mcu bd directly the mcu could be faulty.
