    Hope That Helps
Thank you both for the reply.

I will pull off the back cover and see if I can figure out what the solenoid is. Looking at the dissassembly procedure in the service manual, I am reticent to tear down the unit as it is described in there. It is working fine using the side feeder right now.

    Great info.

    Thanks again

drbob101 you got your FREE advice, now go call your local copier repair company and have them fix it because after all, that is what they get paid to do! Have a great day!

        Excuse me?

        What is that attitude about?

I am a DIY person and am pretty handy at fixing and maintaining my equipment, cars, houses, touts, etc. I am appreciative of those who are willing to help and I do the same in the areas that I am proficient at.

        What

I say this with the utmost respect, you are obviously not that proficient in copier repair, otherwise you would have resolved the issue with your copier. I to, am all about DIY, however, I am not so anesthetized by my ego to admit defeat, for example, if my transmission on my Lexus fails, I go to my car repair facility and have them fix it, and not bother them with questions while I TRY TO FIX IT MYSELF. I appreciate the fact you are trying to fix it, however, I would grantee you, I, or any other tec that has replied to your post would have your issue resolved or diagnosed within ten minutes. In the midst of your bemusement, your subconscious mind... may want to ask why, however, your lips could not make the connection with the electrical impulses from your brain... pardon me, that is just an assumption on my part, and I know what happens when you assume. Why, should you call your local copier repair company, I could give you many reasons 1) they would have your copier fixed by now, 2) the technician that comes out to service your copier more than likely has many years experience ( training and schooling) which the last time I checked was not free. 3) I'm almost sure he or she may have a family that depends upon his income, mortgage, car, child's education and hopefully a retirement fund. I could go on, however, I have wasted enough of our time, after all, life is short. I might add, that I did get some free advice from an attorney once, he told me to avoid having to use his services, and to this day, I have heeded his advice.

I did forget to mention the attorney in the fore- mentioned blurb was a criminal defense attorney and the advice it was given to me while I was servicing their copier, if you are intellectually- inclined or curious as to what kind of legal beagle they may possibly be.
