    MX-2640N - Does not wake up from sleep mode

    The client has complained about before, but I checked the settings and flash firmware they are saying it is still occurring. It doesn't happen while I am there. The owner prints from home and sends faxes from home. I am assuming that they have VPN or something.

    It does not have the latest firmware, it seems like they came out with a new firmware yesterday. It does not say the firmware fixes this issue, but I will flash anyways.The Auto power off is not on and I checked the different settings and everything seems to be correct.

    Any ideas?

    We had an older machine (MX2300) doing this and setting all the temp settings back to default seemed to do the trick. It might not help, but it couldn't hurt. It's a real pain when it won't duplicate when you are there. No way to know if you fixed it but to try something and wait to see if it works.
    I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

      I am trying something right now. I increased the RAW printer port timeout to 120 seconds, enabled DNS update, made sure the sleep and auto power shut off are not set to the same time and shut off their scheduled power on/off. It was set for 07:00 to 22:00 hrs.

      If this does not work, I will check into your suggestion. I changed it a while back due to a bulletin for fuser noise, I believe.

        We have a MX-2610n doing the same. Will keep an eye on this thread and post any updates/solutions we find.

          I had a smaller model do the same thing...turned out it was the MFP board causing the problem...

            Machine unable to wake up from Sleep Mode (even after a firmware upgrade).
            Check the following soft switch setting:-

            Sim 66-1 (Fax switch) SW92, Set bit 7 = 1.

            we have also sat
            Sim 66-1
            sw 97
            bit 7to 1 if the one above does not help

              I have encountered MFP not waking up when sending print jobs. Changing sleep mode from Low Power to Fast Wake Up has resolved this issue for me.

                Disabled WSD and other unneeded network services/protocols. Disabled unneeded ports under security. Changed power management to 60 min preheat and 120 min auto shutoff.

                  We had two 453s and a 5111 all do the same thing at one location. And recently another 363n, unchecked Auto Power Shutoff for all machines, no.more.complaints. Wish I knew what is causing this recent issue, seems network related to recent hardware/software.
