[Jamming] Sharp MX-5001n Jamming in registration area

Gentlemen, I would appreciate help on a sharp MX-5001n, that keeps jamming in registration assembly. Customer removed a jam, supposedly and now it's jamming with w/ the paper leading edge at registration rollers, intermittent curling below registration area & lead edge on rollers. Taken out the registration assy. gears are smooth, the motor is smooth, no chipped gears. Cleaned reflective sensors, no changes so far. the jam codes are below. Thank you in advance for your help!

Remove reg section and remove reg roller ( clip and bushing on one end, screw and gear on the other. One screw holds guide plate and will come right out, I believe) There is probably a damaged guide mylar behind roller or label stuck on mylar.

The reflective sensors have been known to go bad on these models.
Sharp had to change part numbers on some reg units.

Thanks Mansart, & Tee. Did Sharp issue a bulletin for the updated part number on the sensors or Reg assembly?
I would like to have the sensors on hand just case they are needed!

There is bulletin for ppd2 sensor and one for reflective sensors in paper path. had to replace both on a mx-5001 constant jamming calls because sensors were getting covered in paper dust , once I replaced the reflective sensor in paper path calls for jams due to dirty sensor dropped off. One is MFP-TB- 527 and the other is mfp-tb-663R

The sharp bulletin posted by Faxman28 helped w/ parts number search Thank you faxman28, mansart, & Tee.

Just an added note, if you replace the door per the bulletin, you will need to transfer the "black reference" tape for lack of a better term attached to the old door (directly across from the sensors).
If you do not transfer the "tape" machine will indicate jam continuously, sensor uses the tape for paper pass detection. Bulletin doesn't mention replacing "tape"

The Jamming problem was resolved with a sensor for around $20, I did not need to replace the doors at this time-but it's possible that doors might need to be be replaced, if the copier keeps having jamming issues due to excessive paper dust- per sharp bulletin. If doors are replaced, Your message on reinstalling the tape will be helpful for someone who is still having the jamming -thanks poultryman17

Hello, in a follow up to this thread from couple of weeks ago- jamming in the registration area was fixed with a new PPD2 sensor-, the problem is reoccurring after a week to ten day, again it's fixed by replacing the PPD2 sensor. I'm suspecting that the PCU PWB is likely the source of over voltage to the sensor. This customer-a restaurant with heavy electrical loads for cooking appliances-is known to have a lot of power surges, and I have installed a ESP next gen power conditioner since the repair, but I believe the damage might already be done. Does anyone have any other possible causes for blown PPD2?

if you replaced the sensors in bulletin mfp-tp-527 the door has to be replaced, the sensors beam focus point was changed to help with not being effected by paper dust. paper dust(cheap paper) causing false jams is big issue on this series, once I changed the sensors in the paper path (tb-527) and the ppd2 sensor (tb-633R) all false jamming has stopped,

did you test the PPD2 sensor in sim test mode ? are you getting ppd2_n jams or cpfd1_x jams ?

Faxman28, the The TB 527, that you linked in earlier thread shows 7 updated pieces, including the sensors. Is it necessary to replace all or would replacing the three pieces 1) right lower door paper guide PGIDM2473FCZ2, right lower door unit CCAB-1136DS55, & reflective sensors VHPGP2A25J+-1 would work?

And Are the two sensor part numbers shown on the two TB, which one is correct sensor for the registration assy. or the latest release, VHPGP2A25J+-1 or the VHPGP2A240L-1?

                            Thanks in advance!

TB 527 is just for the paper path sensors and door, vhpgp2a25j+-1 x 2 and ccab-1136ds55(complete door unit with all parts) or the right lower door paper guide pgidm2473fcz2 which is just the inner part of the door ( would need to transfer over parts from door unit).

vhpgp2a240l-1 is just the ppd2 sensor.
