[Misc] No MFP found while installing Sharp MX-C402sc

    Hi everyone,
I have been working on this for a few hours in my office and I am not getting anywhere. When I am installing the drivers for the Sharp MX-C402sc I get the message no mfp found on network. I have a different 402 setup on the network and when it is powered on I can find that one. I have tried 3 other computers in the office and none of them can see it when installing the driver. I can ping it and pull up the web page for the machine. I have looked at all of the settings on the web page and can not find anything. I have done the device cloning from the known good unit but nothing has changed. The scan works and when I set the IP address to the driver already installed I can print, but seeing as this machine is going out to a customer that is not a solution.
I have had sharps give me this problem from 1 or 2 computers in an office before but not all of them and never from the computer I use for my testing.
I think that it is a setting somewhere that I am missing..
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Dean

Just manually set a port/IP address. I would say that on about 1/3 of the installations that I've done, the MFP is not found during the scan for devices. Don't panic! That will not affect your ability to print. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Furthering on this point, you can extract the source files from the .exe to obtain the bare .inf printer driver. You can then specify the driver to use and force it to accept that print driver and appoint a port.

SNMP needs to be on. Check the port settings on the mfp for snmp enabled. This is usually on by default, SNMP can be turned off on the network or the pc your loading the driver from . for security some IT managers are not using open anonymous SNMP, they are setting community names and passwords.
