    [CQ] skewed copies on m465

hey guys, need your help again. i have a mx-m465 that shifts all copies. i'ts only a hair of a shift difference but it's noticeable to the customer. is there a sim to adjust this or is it more on the mechanical side? thanks again.

Is the shift consistent in one direction or does it vary? The specs for skew is + - .8mm. In my book that's a hair difference. Is the skew in the engine or is it optical? If optical is only on glass or also Doc feeder?

the shift is consistent going in one direction but varies and gets progressively worse the more copies you make of the original. it shifts the copies and also twists it. it happens on both copies from the adf and the glass. the first shift is more than a millimeter or two. any ideas?

well i made some progress. i ran a sim, which one i dont remember lol, but now it is no longer getting worse. now it only skews the copy to one side from the original going through the adf or the glass. all the copies come out dang near spot on each other but are skewed the same way from the original.

Have you ran TC 61-4 to check LSU skew?

ok, ran that and got a pretty print out. made a copy of it and it shifted the copy. i also ran 61-1 and it came back "ok".

If the copy image is only shifted, there are adjustments in TC 50 that can move the image for lead edge, centering, and voids. If the image is 'twisted', your mirrors may not be perfectly parallel.
Your good printout of 61-4 says the LSU is fine.

The values are what you input to make the copy image look like the original.

is there a standard set up or like a start up value set?

There are 'default' values, but to get you in the 'ballpark', run TC 50-28 (SETUP/PRINT ADJ Print lead edge adjustment, image off-center (each paper feed tray, duplex mode) adjustment).
Try to get a service manual.
