How often the lamp comes on is going to vary based on a lot of different parameters:

    1) What fuser temperature is set?
    2) What media type is selected?
    3) What media size is selected?
    4) Environmental temperature?
    5) Idling or printing?

It's safe to say that if the thermostat is not blowing, it's not exceeding the maximum temperature. If you really want to know what the temperature of the roller is, buy yourself a nice infrared temperature probe. They don't cost much, and will tell you exactly what the temperature is without physical contact.

    Infrared Non-Contact Thermometers

That all being said, you haven't been very specific as to what exact "heater lamp problem" you have. Maybe you would like to elaborate a little on that? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

If not mistaken, e305 only got 2 heater lamps whereby e356/456 got 3 heater lamps...
