toshiba estudio 450 - printing problem

Hi all. So the trouble i'm having with this toshiba is : whenever i print something, i must choose manually tray 1 or tray 2 because if i let it chose automatically, it always selects bypass. I made all the settings in the machine, from the control panel, no change. I tried to disable bypass from the copier options in control panel, still the same thing. Does anyone know how it can be made to select automaticaly the trays depending on the original format?

check the paper type at the machine. If this is not plain then it will default to bypass. Also if PDF then make sure that "print using pdf page size" is unchecked when printing as that will cause issues as well.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

What original size is the electronic document? I have an enduser that creates all her PDF documents as CUSTOM 8 1/2 x 11 0/16 (which is not the the same as standard LT or LT-R). Every one of her documents request that CUSTOM 8 1/2 x 11 0/16 paper be loaded to the bypass. If you open the document in Adobe Professional, and select paper size Letter, it prints properly, without the prompt screen.

You need to look closely at the copier screen to see EXACTLY what the machine is requesting. Is it a SPECIAL paper size, or a Heavy media type? It will tell you what it wants if you look. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
