    Scanning

    Hello

I have a customer that wants to scan documents using both the feeder and off the glass. They want to scan the tax returns using the feeder and then finish off by scanning smaller documents off the glass and have one file. I have tried to do this but once I start using either the glass or feeder I can not use the other. I have looked through the service manual and have not found a way to do this. Is there a setting that I am missing?

    Thank you in advance.

Not sure if that is possible. I'm assuming the other documents are to small to use the document feeder. I believe you may have to use adobe professional to merge the two documents as one file.

Its not possible, it keeps asking to feed originals in the same target. Switching flatpanel to RADF vice-versa is not possible.

I don't know of any machine that can do this. Do it as per suggestion.

You are looking for a feature called "separate scan, or job build". Haven't seen a Toshiba in years, but just about every manufacturer offers this. It may be under the editing tab on the control panel. Emujo

We did it all the time with the separate scan feature on Konica 950's. No that that helps at all, I'm just saying......

Kyocera calls it Job Build. You can switch back and forth from the glass or DP as many times as you like.

I have never seen it on a Toshiba. But here is my suggestion: Copy the small originals to LTR, then scan the copies with the rest of the documents into a single document. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It cannot be done on Toshiba machine.

                  Re: Scanning

Current model Toshiba copiers can only perform the task you describe via the "Job Build" function found under the Edit tab within the LCD control panel.

Unfortunately, Job Build is not available for scan jobs at this time.

To perform this task, the customer would have to copy all of the documents via Job Build. Once complete, simply scan all of the printed pages as one file.

Blackcat's suggestion to only copy the originals that are smaller than LT size, like receipts, is a good one. You can probably place multiple receipts onto one LT size page.

You can also do something creative like create a Template to reduce the # of keystrokes for the customer.

On the plus side, think of this as a round about method to force the customer to pay for scans.
