    eStudio 3530c: slow printing

customer actually has an OKI CX3535. I have ordered some parts from a Toshiba 3530c parts manual for the machine, seemed to be very similar.

when they go to make copies or prints, the machine is taking a long time before it actually starts printing or copying. (loud whirring noise is what they describe)

could this be related to the number of pages on the color drums and developer? 128,000 on the color total meter.

they have had it just about 2 years and only recently been complaining about this.

maybe taking longer to calibrate and adjust itself?

    thanks.

My guess is that you've got CE40 and CA00 in your future.

When the developer starts to deteriorate you'll get Tiger stripe voids in individual colors, and it will take longer to self calibrate ... until it won't any more.

I don't know if Oki uses the same service software, but if this was an eS3530C you would print off a 9S-103 PM Part List. Most likely you'll see that it's due for 4 drums, black DEV kit and color DEV kit, a couple of roller kits, minimum ... probably more. Look for the little asterisks next to the suggested PM parts on the printoff. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

If this box is a just a re-branded Toshiba I would say the thermopiles are getting clouded with toner from black developer that is overdue for changing. If you don't have thermopiles right now then cleaning them will buy you some time.

We did end up replacing the drums & dv for the color units. I believe that took care of the printing problem.

We also ran in to a weird problem trying to update the firmware before that however. The machine (OKI machine CX3535) appeared to freeze up when our guy tried to update the RADF firmware
using a USB thumb drive. We had the identical machine in our office and it updated fine here- didn't do the RADF here though. Our guy said there was a staple(s) on a board in the RADF and thought
that caused the problem. We took the board off of our machine and another board in the scanner area...haven't put them back in our machine yet to see what happens.
