Machine says power failure plus tray 1 has intermittent lifting problem and if you move the machine it will recycle and say Ready (warming up). I tried a different power outlet and a different power cord and that didn't work. Is this a firmware problem, switch problem? I've never seen this problem before. HELP!!!!

Re: Toshiba E-Studio 205 SE
The reason why the display is showing " Power Failure" is because the operator is most likely shutting down the copier improperly with the hard key switch instead of the power button on the control panel. Concerning the tray lift do as the previous post says. Remove the paper tray and check the tray lift gear on the back side. Sometimes the screw can loosen up and cause the problem you're having. Those gears are known to crack or deform in the area of the mounting screw. Replacing the gear takes care of the problem if it is experiencing tray lift issues.Comment

Re: Toshiba E-Studio 205 SE
Thanks for your response but the main problem is the machine recycling. When you move the machine it says warming up (Ready) which I think is causing the intermittent tray 1 lift problem. The gears on the back side of tray 1 are fine. I think its an electrical problem. But can't figure it out. Door problem? HELP!!!Comment

Re: Toshiba E-Studio 205 SE
My suggestion is for you to try using one or all of the other trays. When the other trays work, and they will, you will know that it's isolated to a single tray.
It is not impossible to have a tray lift problem caused by the Logic Board, just very unlikely. On that one occasion the tray lift motor would operate when already fully lifted, and intermittently not lift when the tray was inserted. Before I replaced the Logic Board, I replaced all the sensors and clutches to confirm that it wasn't something simpler.
If you can provide a little more information, maybe we can help you. And please explain what "recycling" is. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
