    E studio 282

I am strictly a Ricoh guy, a customers neighbor has this Toshiba and it is indicating "time for preventative maintenance"
They would like to know what is involved and cost. I am going to try and upgrade to a Ricoh but need some info to make the pitch.
Question is, how do I find out what needs maintenance according to the display if the machine tells. I can get into the admin user tools but didn't see anything about it there.
    Thanks

Power up in 9S mode (hold 9 + Start until the green lights illuminate on the panel). The password is typically 'blank' as in no password, then OK.
Enter 103 then Start. The machine will print off the PM list. Look for items with an asterisk next to them, either by count or by rotations. It's an old machine, but we've still got plenty of them in the field, and parts are still available. Press and hold the power button on the panel to shut down.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You need the PM Kit and Drum, altogether about $150 dealer cost. This is, by surprise, one of the best Toshibas ever made, and I'm stretching saying that. Most Toshibas I've worked on are junk, but this model was an exception. The only machine in that series that I've ever seen crest 1,000.000 pages. The PM Kit does not include feed rollers, or any of the Fuser stuff (Rollers, Bearings, Fingers), which is a separate Fuser PM Kit with everything but the Bearings. I know you're a Ricoh guy, but I'd take this Toshiba over any Ricoh any day.
