    Cleaning needle electrode

    Mainly on the 205/255/305/355/455, 206/256/306/356/456, 207/257/357/457.
Does anyone have a reliable way to clean the needle electrodes? In the past (on Sharps) I've used non-ammonia glass cleaner, alcohol, or styrofoam to clean the points. None of these seem to be doing the trick. I've got lot's of options. Naturally I'm avoiding oil/petroleum based cleaners, since the residue is difficult to remove, but if there's a good reason to, I'll try it. Any suggestions? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: Cleaning needle electrode

I have done this in the past.

Lay the electrode on a flat surface on top of paper towels (or something soft and absorbent)

Wipe it with windex or glass cleaner.
    Pat it dry
wipe with a rag of water
    pat it dry
    finally wipe with alchol
    pat dry

    turn over and repeat.

Looks close to new and ready to go in 1-2 minutes.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

I'll give it a go. I would be encouraged to experiment a little more if it weren't so inconvenient to pull that charge unit. =^..^=

try cleaning with a piece of soft foam used in some parts packaging. push it up and down on the saw tooth and don't drag it across.

          sel sol cleaner

type the above in your browser and select partsnow.com as the source to see the product.

This product is amazing for removing glues, toner ect with ease. clean with this and finish off with alcohol.

It was mainly used in the industry as a tire rejuvenator and cleaner. I only use it for specific purposes as it penetrates and soften any bond. I stopped using it for general cleaning after seeing how it penetrates and does not want it to get on my skin. But amazing stuff. 1 liter would last you a life time.

Also, best for cleaning cake toner from fuser guide entrances. does not smell. Does not melt or harm plastics.

The best solution I have found is CRC QD Electronic Cleaner and a toothbrush. Just spray some on the toothbrush and the sawtooth and brush the needles with the bristles and let dry. It dries quicky, the QD is for Quick Dry. You can find the CRC cleaner at Home Depot and some auto parts stores.
