    Toshiba e-232 won't recognize cassettes

I am servicing this toshiba e232 which doesn't recongnize cassettes 1 and 2 (LTR and LGL), but it does feed OK from bypass, I already checked with 03 mode to run the lift up motors for cassettes 1 and 2. but no noise nor vibration occurs. / the paper won't lift in either cassette), I already formatted the HD and cleaned and reseated the DIMM also checked wiring and all looks OK, papers sizes are correct. Any ideas are welcomed thanks!

P.S. The machine is used as copier only.

I'm unclear on a couple of things. What do you mean when you say the cassettes are not recognized? Do you get "Add Paper" messages? Does the paper in the tray match the paper size displayed on the panel for each tray respectively?

So you've tested the lift motors and there's no noise or vibration, right? So the motor doesn't run at all, or does it run normally with only the ordinary running noises? Does the paper lift when you close the tray?

If the motor doesn't run, it would be handy to know if there was voltage coming to the lift motor. If there is voltage but the motor doesn't run, you might just have a couple bad lift motors. If there is no voltage at the motor, you don't know anything about the motor, but you can be sure that you'll need voltage to run the motor. You might want to find out why there's no voltage.

We'll definitely need more information. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Hello, yes theres is an ADD PAPER message for both trays, the paper sizes shown are OK (LTR and LGL respectively), the lift up motors are completely dead, no buzz no noise at all, therefore the trays won't lift at all either. thanks for your time in answering ..!!

Excellent. That's a good start. Now we'll need to know if your getting 24vdc at the connector for each lift motor when the tray is inserted (or when you test in 03 mode). Since copiers are ground switching, you'll want to measure off the two pins on the lift motor connector not frame ground to red wire. There should always be 24vdc from the red wire to the frame ground. It's the ground that switches the motor On/Off. =^..^=
