Re: e2500ac f101
On any other Toshiba an F101 is a HDD error. It probably says so in the service manual. It also probably tells you how to enter the service mode in the service manual.
Go ahead and say it: "BUT ITS A NEW MACHINE...!!!"
Yeah ... well, hard drives fail on both old machines and new machines, especially the wonderful Wipe Drives. I changed one of these drives on an eS357, about 3 weeks after delivery. It hadn't even consumed it's first cartridge of toner yet. Supposedly the latest firmware is supposed to solve some of these early HDD failures, but I haven't seen any evidence of that yet. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: e2500ac f101
I think you will find that the HDD failure is due to the HDD firmware not "parking" the read head and hence creating bad sectors on the HDD causing failure....latest firmware solves that issue....also fault code can be related to the SATA HDD cable...again an upgraded part is now availableComment

Re: e2500ac f101
The SED HDD used in the eBX series copiers were poorly located too close to the copier's fuser section. The SED HDD is an off the shelf Toshiba laptop drive that was never intended to be placed next to a high heat source for long periods of time. The long term exposure to high heat could cause the platters inside the drive to create bad sectors or in extreme cases lose all lubrication inside the drive.
The new eBN copiers have relocated the SED HDD far away from the fuser so that there is a low chance of heat transfer.
Another problem with the design of the eBX copiers was that many technicians upon setting up the copier would deliberately turn off the third choice Deep Sleep function on the LCD control panel thinking that their customer's would prefer the faster copier response. This meant that the SED HDD has even less chance of cooling down. As you visit eBX copiers in the field, Toshiba recommends that you enable this feature.
The new eBN copiers have fixed this problem and to date (knock on wood, only a couple of months) I have not had a SED HDD fail yet.Comment
